Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in children, also know as ADHD, is a growing epidemic. It isn’t just limited to children. When it is not dealt with constructively in childhood, it remains into adulthood. You can’t grow out of it.
What is ADHD?
Let’s first look at the signs and symptoms of ADHD. They include:
- an impulsive nature
- easily brought to tears
- restless, always on the go
- lack stamina
- poor concentration
- rapid mood changes
- easily frustrated
- disturbs other children
The criteria for a diagnosis is that there is inattention, hyperactivity (or passivity) and impulsiveness that begins before the age of 6 and has been current for at least 6 months. They are symptoms that are inappropriate for the age and development of the child.
As you can tell, this is a very loose diagnosis. There is no test for ADHD, so it is not a very valuable label to give children.
Are Parents Looking For An Easy Life?
Moreover, any healthy child SHOULD be excitable, impulsive and always on the go. Part of the maturing of a child is easy frustration. They can’t do or get what they want. Some children have characteristic rapid mood changes. Some cry far more easily than others. Some tend to disturb other children more. It’s all part of their character.
Some parents want to tone down this go-go tendency in their child. That does not bode well for a healthy child. Every child should be out and about, discovering things for themselves. It’s all part of their learning.
The parts that are less a natural part of childhood is the destructive nature, the lack of stamina and the poor concentration. There seems to be a problem in the stimuli (such as learning) making its way undisturbed to the brain. This problem is more likely to occur in boys (80%).
What Causes ADHD In Children?
There are several hypotheses, with no definitive answer. But my suggestion is the high levels of toxicity in our world. Not only are toxic chemicals used extensively on our food production, gardeners use them indiscriminately. Many household cleaning products and furnishings contain toxic chemicals. Likewise in personal care products.
But perhaps the icing on the cake, as it were, is the administration of umpteen vaccines, which also contain toxic chemicals.
Couple the high toxicity with a nutrient poor diet so common in the west, and the results seem to be inevitable.
Whilst it appears that many children cope with this, a vulnerable child, with a growing immune system, may just not be to. Each child is an individual and they will exhibit their own collection of signs and symptoms.
Natural Solutions For Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder In Children
Are there any natural remedies for ADHD? The common medical prescription of the methylphenidate drugs (MPD), a cocaine derived group, worry many parents. These heavy calibre medications must raise the question of where society is heading.
A few years ago a Swiss double blind study was conducted on the homeopathic treatment of children with ADHD. It was a 5 year scientific study. The conclusion confirmed significant proof that homeopathy gave optimal results to the majority of the participating children.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in children doesn’t have to be a life sentence for the family. The child doesn’t have to be treated with cocaine derived drugs. There is a healthier, more appropriate, more natural approach.
