This lesson covers suitable topical treatments and dislocations
It is aways preferable to allow air on open wounds, even when there are flies around. Covering wounds up allows them to fester and encourages infection.
In the horse leg injury example earlier, I didn’t cover her wound even though it was quite bad, summer time and there were flies about. Instead I sprayed it regularly with Hypercal.
Hypercal is a 50/50 mixture of hypericum tincture and calendula tincture. It’s a brilliant topical herbal treatment for open wounds of any kind or severity. It supports good healing.
The tincture should be diluted with about 90% water. This may already have been done if you purchase it. Check what you’re getting as the alcohol would cause stinging if it’s not already diluted.
You can make it yourself if you purchase the two tinctures.
If there is a flap of skin, this does need stitches.
Acute dislocations of a joint are invariably caused by a fall, an injury, a trauma of some kind. So the first remedy of choice is Arnica. This relaxes the muscles allowing the joint to slip back into place.
Further doses may be helpful with any associated pain.
Different remedies may be needed to help with the tendency or the chronic effects, but Arnica is likely to keep you away from emergencies!
Check in with your homeopath when you can.
