Hormones in women have a purpose, contrary to how the medical system feel about it. Women’s natural hormones are finely tuned. When they are properly understood, they serve everyone, men included, to perfection. All you need to do is to understand and appreciate how the female hormone system works and the innate wisdom of it.
Women, unlike men, have natural cycles. Everyone knows that this cycle synchronises when several women live together. This natural cycle is also affected by the phases of the moon, which do affect everyone, often on a subtle level.
A natural female cycle is one that has not been influenced by the gross synthetic hormones so common today. This cycle is 28 days long. Day one is the first day of the menstrual cycle, day 14 is the day of ovulation.
The movement along the cycle means that women are in constant flux and change every two and a half days.
From day 1 to day 14, this phase is known as the follicular phase. From day 14 to day 28 this phase is known as the luteal phase. Each phase has very different affects on women.
This phase is when women are most active, most, caring, most giving. It’s the oestrogen phase. They are productive, magnetic and give attention to the outside world. It’s the yang phase. You could also call it the spring phase, moving into the summer phase.
This is the time to party, to go for interviews, to start their own business, to have those important meetings, and all the aspects of life that need extra support.
This phase is the yin phase or the autumn and winter phase. It’s the progesterone phase. It is a time for their inner world, for reflection, rest, sustenance, intuition, self awareness.
They bring these reflective and intuitive ideas back into the family/community/group so that everyone can benefit.
It can be a tough phase as it’s the time when women can be very self critical, critical of their partner, their life, their work, their lot in life. So it’s a time when women need more support from their menfolk. And the men need to be aware that it may be a tough phase, so they don’t take the criticism personally, but leave the discussion until the follicular phase.
The natural hormones in women have a purpose which, when properly understood and respected, empower both women and men. There isn’t anything wrong with the women or with their hormones. It’s all totally natural and benefits everyone when properly understood.
When women don’t work with their natural cycle and don’t rest,(as much as is possible in todays world) in their luteal phase, this is when problems can occur.
All the common female hormonal problems, such as period pain, sore breasts, irritability, amenorrhoea (lack of periods), infertility, poly cystic ovaries, mood swings, weight gain, fatigue, insomnia, thyroid dysfunction, endometriosis all the way up to ovarian or breast cancer.
50% of women over 35 have oestrogen dominance. This means they are not resting and allowing reflection in their luteal phase. Our culture of go, go, go totally lacks respect for the wisdom of the female hormonal cycles. The women become stressed, making cortisol instead of progesterone, preventing absorption of the thyroid hormone.
When women do work with their natural cycles, not only are they much more healthy, without all the associated ‘hormonal’ illnesses, they will breeze though their menopausal period with little to no problems.
Women who have amenorrhoea or who are have finished with menstruation, can use the moon to track their cycle, as it is still valid. The new moon is day one, the start of the follicular/oestrogen phase. The full moon, day 14, is the start of the luteal/progesterone phase.
Rather than use synthetic hormones as birth control, women can also map their temperature to find when they are in a fertile time. The Billings method was the first to bring that to light. Others have followed. Just search for ‘Billings method’ or ‘natural fertility regulation’.
It behoves everyone for women to keep a regular calendar of her cycle. Over several months, it will become apparent when problems occur. If they occur in the luteal phase, you need more rest, more inner reflection, less activity, more support.
The influence of the lunar cycles influence goes far beyond that over women. The ocean tides are affected. Gardeners have been using the lunar cycles for centuries.
The influence of a protective and supportive father figure in growing girls is important. Without this, there can be hormonal problem later in life.
Hormones in women do not indicate a problem. Women need to take their autonomy for their own bodies back and become aware of the wisdom of their cycles.
For women who struggle with their hormones, professional homeopathic treatment is one of the most helpful strategies to consider. Homeopathy treats the whole, rather than the parts, which means all aspects of health are helped and supported, not just the balance of their hormones.
And THAT translates to much greater harmony in the home!
