Understanding cholesterol, what it is and how it is linked to other conditions the medical industry deems dangerous, is key to helping you stay healthy, or return to health.
Cholesterol is a hormone. One that we all need. It supports the processes of the body, including managing chronic inflammation, a vital job in todays unhealthy world. In current understanding, cholesterol is used by the body to convert the sunlight on your skin into vitamin D. I'm sure in time, this will be exposed as being a rather simplistic view, but it serves us well enough.
It has an important job. It is needed. It is synergistic in that it supports the complexities of bodily processes, most of which we probably don't yet understand.
Cholesterol is made by the body. It can also come from the diet. When cholesterol is obtained through the diet, less is made by the body. The body is intelligent.
Cholesterol is found in the plaque that can build up in arterial walls. Other substances are also found there. When plaque builds up in the arteries, the artery walls become hard and stiff. This makes it more difficult for varying amount of blood to pass through.
To rectify this, the pressure in the arteries will increase, just as it does in your garden hose when you kink it.
This condition is known as arteriosclerosis.
Arteriosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory condition.
So now we have chronic inflammation, plaque consisting of cholesterol and other substances, rigid or unyielding arterial walls and high blood pressure.
You could ask which came first?
When you understand health, you can be very certain. The inflammation came first. Everything else was a consequence of that.
Chronic inflammation is the body's response to several factors. It could be from an acute inflammation that wasn't healed properly (energetically). However, in today's world, the most common cause of chronic inflammation is the diet.
Most people in the west eat terribly. Fast food is common, as is junk food. Processed food is everywhere. High animal protein is gaining traction. And they all cause inflammation, chronically so when they are part of the daily diet.
White rice caused major health problems when it was first used. All the good parts had been stripped away.

White sugar has all the nutritional parts stripped away. White flour has been stripped of all the nutritional parts.
Why are we so obsessed with white food?
These 'foods' are in all the packets, along with insane amounts of salt and so called 'healthy' fats - the seed oils, which have been stripped of their nutritional content and processed with hazardous catalysts.
When you swap the processed part of your diet with real food - fresh fruit and veg, wholemeal flour, coconut or rapadura sugar, brown/black/red rice, your chronic inflammation starts to fall.
Along with this, blood pressure tends to normalise, as do cholesterol readings, as the arterial walls begin to soften and flex.
Reducing all animal protein to just three times a week or less, can further help.
Now your body is getting the nutrition it needs and takes over the rest of the process.
The medical perspective never asks why the body is doing what it is doing. It doesn't appreciate that the body is intelligent, that it is responding to a bad situation, trying desperately to keep you alive.
Instead they claim your body is defective and, in essence, is deficient of a drug.
Yet statins can have terrible side effects without touching the core issue. The resulting muscle weakness can be very painful. Even more important, these drugs, as with many others, can reduce the uptake of many nutrients, making you less healthy overall. CoQ10 is just one such nutrient that is depleted.
Understanding cholesterol can help you make healthy choices. It means making changes. You can't solve a problem with the same consciousness that created it. Be open to a change of diet!
