A1 The current way we use homeopathy has been around for 200 years., but there is reference to its principles and philosophies that go much further back.
Homeopathy a highly scientific system of health care with a plethora of independent, placebo controlled trials, proving its efficacy.
Homeopathy is not a part of herbalism although it does use plants to make some remedies.
In acute prescribing, homeopaths can just use physical symptoms. For chronic conditions, better results result when the mental, emotional and energetic symptoms are used. It is what is termed 'holistoc', ie whole body.

A2 Cats teeth are spiky which is perfect for crunching up on the small, raw bones of their prey.
Cats spend a lot of time resting or sleeping, showing two important points - that they don't need frequent meals and that standing is not comfortable for them when they are not engaged in an activity.
Cats do not have a natural thirst because they get their liquid intake from the blood of their prey.

A3 Dogs are thirsty because they are not just fresh meat eaters, but rather scavengers. This means they are happy to eat carrion, berries, tubers, really whatever can keep them alive in times of scarcity.

A4 No. Follow up consultations are essential to see if the prescribed remedy is doing what a homeopath wants to see and if there needs to be any changes. What a patient wants to see is normally focused on the condition. What a homeopath wants to see is an overall improvement even if the condition does not improve immediately.

A5 Yes you can. However it is always better not to start two or more together as that can muddy the water in terms of recognising what is helping. If you have been using the other treatments for some time, then it is easier to see that any new changes come about from the new treatment.
